# Fee quotes

Calculate the fees for an amount without creating a payment.

Use this when you need to show fees before you create a payment, for example to add a fee line to the cart when the buyer pays the fees. It doesn't create or change anything. The result uses your **current** fee schedule and fee bearer; a payment created later may differ if the fee schedule has changed in between, so always show the payment's `amount_total` before the buyer pays.
